Research demand. Check the numbers.

Use Amazon BSR as one demand signal, then enter your own pricing, fees, and expected sales. This calculator does not fetch live data or convert a rank into sales.

Wholesale margin calculator

Dollar values are per sellable unit. The starting values below are an illustrative scenario; replace every input with your own research.

These are estimates after the costs you enter, before any omitted expenses or taxes. Enter the exact current fees for the product and marketplace. For fees assessed on a different base, use an equivalent effective percentage or include the remaining charge in “other.”

How to research BSR

Best Sellers Rank is Amazon's relative sales rank within a category. A lower number indicates a higher sales rank in that category; it is not a monthly unit count.

01 / Match the product

Find the exact ASIN, size, variation, and pack count. Open the listing and note the category and BSR.

02 / Review the history

Use the supplier detail links to inspect Amazon and Keepa. Review rank, pricing, stock changes, seasonality, and seller competition over time.

03 / Model your share

Use a current sales estimate as a starting assumption. Your expected sales may be only a portion of total listing demand. Test a cautious volume.

What you observeHow to use it
Current BSR and categoryCompare similar products within the same category and marketplace. Do not compare unrelated categories by rank alone.
Rank and price historyLook for sustained demand and a realistic selling price. A temporary spike or discount can distort a single snapshot.
Sales estimate and competitionTreat estimates as uncertain. Consider competing offers, stock, and your ability to win sales before entering your monthly units.
eBay and Walmart demandResearch those marketplaces separately. Amazon BSR does not measure their sales.

There is no universal BSR-to-sales conversion in this app. External research services may require your own account or subscription. Read Amazon's BSR explanation.

How to use AMZ Top Vendors

An app to help you find and contact wholesalers, source products, and evaluate opportunities to sell on Amazon, eBay, and Walmart.

1. Find a supplier that fits your business

The Suppliers page contains 59 randomly selected entries from the supplied directory's wholesaler and distributor list. The selection stays the same when you reload or open the app on another device.

  1. Browse the cards or search by company, product keyword, or focus area. Sort company names A–Z or Z–A.
  2. Open a card to read its profile and see website, wholesale, contact, and marketplace research links.
  3. Use Wholesalers & Distributors for a compact table of those same 59 companies.
  4. Use Export CSV to download the suppliers currently matching your search. Clear the search first to export all 59. Saved supplier notes are included.

Descriptions, categories, and websites were carried over from the original file and have not been independently verified. Inclusion is a research lead, not an endorsement or confirmation of resale authorization.

2. Find the right contact and request a catalog

  1. Open the website on file, or use Find website if none is listed. Confirm that it belongs to the company before sharing business information.
  2. Use Wholesale page and Contact / email to locate the official account application or sales contact. Search results are research shortcuts; this app does not contain verified contact emails.
  3. In Email Templates, enter your sender details and requested marketplaces, then choose one of the 59 suppliers. Copy the relevant draft or open it in your mail app. Add the verified recipient and review the message before sending.
  4. Ask for the price list, current catalog, UPC/GTINs, case quantities, minimum order, freight charges, payment terms, and any shelf-life or return conditions.
  5. Ask which brands and SKUs may be sold on each intended marketplace. Obtain clear written permission where required and verify your seller account can list the exact product before buying stock.

Supplier approval and marketplace approval are separate checks. An invoice or supplier letter alone does not guarantee permission to sell a brand or product.

3. Match products before judging demand

Use supplier catalogs to identify real products. A distributor's name may not be the brand on the product, so use actual brand names, UPCs, sizes, and pack counts when searching.

Inside a supplier profile, the Product or ASIN lookup opens Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and Keepa research links. A 10-character ASIN opens its Amazon product page directly. Search suggestions and search results are not proof that a supplier stocks an item.

Record unit cost, listing price, fees, expiration requirements, lead time, and the date of your research in the supplier notes. Compare one sellable unit with one sellable unit: divide a case price by its sellable units, and account for multipacks correctly.

4. Use the BSR part of BSR & Margin

  1. Record the exact listing. Find its ASIN, variation, category, and current Best Sellers Rank on Amazon. BSR is relative sales rank within a category; it is not your sales forecast.
  2. Check a longer window. Review the product's rank and price history in a research tool such as Keepa. Compare recent behavior with a longer period to understand promotions, stock gaps, and seasonality.
  3. Find a current demand estimate. If you use an external sales estimator, record its date, category, marketplace, and assumptions. The app does not retrieve live BSR or estimate units automatically.
  4. Estimate your own volume. Consider competing sellers, availability, pricing, and your likely share of sales. Do not enter the entire listing's estimated sales unless that assumption is justified.
  5. Use separate marketplace evidence. Amazon BSR does not translate into eBay or Walmart volume. Research demand and competing offers on each marketplace before building a scenario.

For example, if your research suggests 300 monthly units across an Amazon listing and you assume you can win 10%, enter 30 in “Your expected units / month.” Both 300 and 10% are illustrative assumptions, not data supplied by this app.

5. Fill in the margin calculator

Choose one product, marketplace, and fulfillment method per calculation. All costs are in dollars per sellable unit. Enter zero for a cost only when it truly does not apply.

InputWhat to enter
Wholesale unit costThe supplier's cost for the exact unit you will sell, after any confirmed discount. A $72 case with 12 individually sellable units has a $6 unit cost.
Sale priceA realistic price you expect to receive for that unit. Test a lower price as well; today's highest offer may not win sales.
Marketplace referral feeThe applicable fee rate for the product and marketplace. The app multiplies this percentage by sale price. Verify the fee category and any different fee base in the platform's own calculator.
Minimum referral feeThe applicable minimum charge per unit, or zero if none applies. The calculator uses the larger of the percentage fee and this minimum.
Fulfillment / outbound feeThe expected per-unit fulfillment charge for Amazon FBA, Walmart fulfillment, or your own outbound shipping and handling. Use the correct size, weight, and pack configuration.
Inbound shipping / unitFreight and inbound charges allocated across the sellable units in the order. For example, $60 across 100 units adds $0.60 each.
Prep, storage & otherPer-unit labeling, packaging, expected storage, fixed selling charges, advertising, returns allowance, and other costs you need to model. Avoid counting a charge twice.
Your expected units / monthThe number you expect your own business to sell. This is an assumption you enter, not a number automatically derived from BSR.

For Amazon, check the current fee schedule and Revenue Calculator linked on the calculator page. For eBay or Walmart, enter those platforms' applicable costs. Complex fee bases, taxes, and omitted business expenses require separate checking.

6. Read the outputs and test a cautious scenario

  • Estimated profit / unit: sale price minus wholesale cost, referral fee, fulfillment, inbound shipping, and other entered costs.
  • Margin: estimated profit per unit divided by sale price, multiplied by 100.
  • ROI on entered sourcing cost: estimated profit divided by wholesale cost + inbound shipping + other costs, multiplied by 100. This denominator is the app's convention; it does not model cash-flow timing.
  • Referral fee: the greater of sale price × referral percentage and the minimum fee.
  • All-in entered cost: the sum of the five cost components used in this scenario.
  • Estimated profit / month: estimated profit per unit multiplied by your expected monthly units. It is a scenario, not a forecast or guaranteed result.

Using the starting example ($6 cost, $19.99 price, 15% referral fee with no minimum, $4.75 fulfillment, $0.60 inbound, and $0.35 other), the calculator shows approximately $5.29 profit per unit, 26.5% margin, and 76.1% ROI. At an assumed 300 units it shows approximately $1,587.45 per month, before omitted costs and taxes. Calculations use unrounded values internally.

Next, reduce price, increase freight or fulfillment costs, add a returns allowance, and reduce your expected sales. If the revised scenario no longer works, reconsider the order size or supplier quote. Positive arithmetic does not establish demand or guarantee profit.

7. Keep your research and access it anywhere

The hosted link works on phones, tablets, and computers. Your supplier notes, sender details, and theme preference are stored locally in the current browser. They are not sent to a shared database or synchronized across devices. The supplier selection itself is included in the app and is identical everywhere.

Use Export CSV to keep a copy of notes before clearing browser storage or moving to a different device. Calculator inputs are temporary and reset on reload. This app provides research links and email drafts; it does not contact suppliers, place orders, or connect to your marketplace accounts automatically.
